Subaru of America, after announcing the best-ever sales year in company history, introduces new versions of the popular and award-winning Forester at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, January 11-24. The Forester 2.5X with Special Edition Package adds 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and roof rails, while the Forester 2.5X Limited offers a new Navigation and Convenience Package on top of its already luxurious features. For 2010, enhancements above the leather appointed interior, 10-way power driver's seat and panoramic power moonroof include Forester's first-ever HID headlights, one-touch folding rear seats and cargo area cover. The Forester 2.5X Limited also boasts Bluetooth® wireless capability for the available navigation system. While the Forester was named Motor Trend Magazine's Sport/Utility of the Year for 2009, the Outback received the same award for 2010, making Subaru the only manufacturer to win the award two years in a row. Subaru is also the only brand to have all five of its model lines named 2010 Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, even in a year where the IIHS adopted stricter criteria for evaluation, including rollover safety. And the awards keep coming, as the Subaru 2.5L turbocharged DOHC H-4 engine, featured in the Legacy 2.5GT, was named one of Ward's Automotive 10 Best Engines for 2010. This newest award was presented on January 13 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.

Subaru is introducing the 2010 Impreza WRX STI Special Edition and the 2010 Impreza WRX Limited models at the Los Angeles Auto Show, December 4-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.Just when you thought there was nothing better than an STI, along comes the Special Edition. To commemorate our fourth consecutive Rally America championship, we created a more intense STI by eliminating anything that doesn't help it go fast. Then we added a Nurburgring-tuned JDM STI spec C suspension for razor-sharp handling, swapped the wheels for spec C alloys, and an exclusive run of only 125 built will come in Aspen White. The STI Special Edition offers the maximum in Subaru performance in a whole new way.The new limited-production WRX will command the road and command even more attention. This stepped-up version of the legendary WRX has been enhanced with High-intensity discharge (HID) headlights for better illumination, SIRIUS® Satellite Radio and leather-trimmed seats. This high-performance machine, with its legendary 265-horsepower turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine, is greatness made even better.




Also featured at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept Car shows a possible future for hybrid vehicle technology and is being used to highlight Subaru's announcement that it will develop a gas/electric hybrid system based on Subaru's boxer engine for launch in 2012.Its unique gull-wing doors emphasize its spacious interior, highlighting a grand touring concept focused on interior volume and comfort. Four independent seats with open spaces surround the occupants. Through clever packaging of the AWD system, a flat floor design allows increased leg room for rear seat passengers. A 2.0-liter horizontally opposed direct fuel-injection turbo gasoline engine improves fuel efficiency and reduces emissions.
